deep cleansers can be used as a daily shampoo or as a part of a weekly deep cleansing routine. if you have an oily scalp, highly active lifestyle, or live in an urban environment around pollution, a daily cleanse with one of our deep cleansers is ideal. if you prefer a less frequent but effective wash, use deep cleansers once a week alone or a part of a double-cleanse with your favorite shu uemura shampoo.

for normal hair, we recommend gentle radiance which will leave hair feeling lightweight and balanced. for dry hair, we recommend delicate comfort to deeply hydrate and leave hair feeling moisturized and soft. for more oily hair and scalp, we recommend pure serenity to cleanse and clarify oily hair and scalp.

our deep cleansers are safe to use on color-treated hair and are silicon-free and paraben-free. however, if your main hair concern is to preserve color or you just received a fresh color or smoothing treatment such as keratin, we do not recommend deep cleansers. instead, we suggest shu uemura color lustre sulfate-free haircare range.
deep cleansers are also great to use prior to receiving your next color service or smoothing treatment to help deeply clarify and cleanse to prep for fresh color.
