How do you determine which prep product to begin with?

I pick my prep product based on my guest’s desired look and what their hair is in need of. For example, if their hair is frizzier and dry, I would apply Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Hair Oil and layer Shiki Worker Blow Dry Primer to tame frizz and add hydration back into the hair.

Do you have a favorite go-to?

Shiki Worker Blow Dry Primer is my go-to because it truly is the miracle product. It is so versatile for layering and feels incredible in the hair.

How do you think the precious ingredient story plays into speaking to products with clients?

The stories behind each precious rare ingredient bring the products to life and give you a connection with what you’re using. The precious ingredients are also responsible for why your hair feel as incredible as it does after using Shu Uemura Art of Hair.

What makes Shu so appealing to clients and stylists?

The history behind the brand, the passion and thought put into each product and the rare precious ingredients that help make the hair look and feel incredible.

Which two products can you not live without? And why?

Essence Absolue Protective Nourishing Hair Oil - I just can’t get enough of it! It’s phenomenal whether you need to prep the hair, touch up frizz mid-day or polish your ends. I also love mixing it into my body lotions for extra hydration. My other all-time favorite is Shiki Worker Blow Dry Primer. It is the miracle product, it doesn’t matter if you’re going to air dry or blow dry the 7 benefits have you covered. It leaves the hair feeling lightweight, smooth and soft to the touch.
