Q+A:

How do you determine which prep product to begin with?

I determine which prep products to start with by my targeted end result. I view my first prep product much like a base coat in a manicure. This step preps the hair, gives me a smooth surface to work with so that all subsequent products apply more smoothly and beautifully while providing protection.

Do you have a favorite go-to?

My favorite prep product to start is Shiki Worker Blow Dry Primer because it works well on all hair types and has 7 instant benefits such as hydration, shine, and frizz control, making it the perfect base product.

How do you think the precious ingredient story plays into speaking to products with clients?

The precious ingredient story is one of the things that make Shu Uemera Art of Hair so unique. Speaking about the precious ingredients found in the products to clients really shows them the thought and care that goes into each individual product. My clients always love hearing more about the special ingredients that go into each product.

What makes Shu so appealing to clients and stylists?

Shu Uemera is so appz ealing to clients because it is truly luxurious in every aspect: the precious ingredient story, the elevated scents, and the beautiful hair benefits. As a stylist, all of the aforementioned reasons make me love recommending the products to clients even more.

Which two products can you not live without? And why?

The products I absolutely cannot live without are Wata Wave Texturizing Spray and Essence Absolue Protective Nourishing Hair Oil.
